Filmmaking Club | Expression of Interest

Introduction

Do you support a group of young people who’d love to tell their own stories through film? Would they benefit from building confidence, creative skills and working together on something they can be proud of?

At Into Film, we’re inviting expressions of interest to take part in our FREE Filmmaking Club programme for 2026–27, supporting young people (aged 7 to 16) to develop creative skills, confidence, and a voice through film.

Your area has been identified as one where young people may face greater barriers to accessing creative opportunities, and where increased access to filmmaking activity would have a meaningful impact.

What you'll get

Through the programme, we’ll help you guide the young people you support to create filmed content, develop new skills, and grow in confidence.

Our support will include:
  • FREE, fully-funded in-person filmmaking workshops (ordinarily delivered as paid sessions) led by our experienced Regional Coordinators or experienced Filmmaking practitioners, covering story, camera, lighting, sound, and editing.
  • A £500 payment to support your participation and delivery of filmmaking activity.
  • Access to exclusive online training and a range of free filmmaking resources.
  • Signposting to local filmmaking opportunities, including National Saturday Clubs and BFI Film Academy.
  • Connection to a UK-wide network of organisations delivering Filmmaking Clubs.
  • Continued access to support beyond the academic year, helping you sustain and grow your filmmaking offer.
  • Support to secure a Public Video Screening (PVS) licence for your setting (typically worth £120).
Why filmmaking?

“Into Film gave our young people a rare chance for positive self-expression and a newfound voice.”

Youth Leader, The Vibe Youth Centre, Dagenham

Filmmaking gives young people the tools to tell their own stories, explore ideas creatively, and build skills that go far beyond the screen. From teamwork and communication to creativity and problem solving, filmmaking is a powerful way to engage and inspire.

Filmmaking is a dynamic, hands-on activity that naturally draws young people in. It offers an exciting way to work together, take ownership of ideas, and see tangible outcomes that connect directly to curriculum learning - from developing narrative structure and writing skills to building confidence in speaking, listening, and using digital tools.

We’re not expecting you to be filmmaking experts, and we’re not expecting your group to create a masterpiece! The programme is all about using the power of film to encourage creativity among young people, we’re just excited to see what you create.
